Summer of Code, continued.

As many of you have probably noticed, first came Mythos/Fable 5, then it disappeared, and came back again after a few weeks and some politics. Fable 5 is a fantastic model, but very expensive, and on its way out of the subscriptions (for now, says Anthropic). Then OpenAI came with a challenge in the GPT 5.6 series. 5.6 Sol High is also a very good model. Not quite as good as Fable, in my view, but close. And much cheaper to run.

Right now the two AI giants are competing, and we mortals reap the benefits. That means that right now (who knows for how long) we have fairly good access to relatively cheap, extremely powerful AI models.

So if you have a project or two in your back pocket: now is the time to bring it out again. These frontier models are seriously powerful.
